Every blogger has probably felt the frustration of running out of ideas and being so burnt out with their blog that  they just straight up abandon their blog and never come back to it. Seeing so many abandoned blogs makes my heart break a little because I'm sure that those bloggers didn't intend to abandon their blogs, but the pressure to make content while being unhappy with their blog got too much. However, there's something better than abandoning your blog, and that's starting completely over with your blog, whether it's making a completely new blog or giving a blog you already own a complete refresh with posts and a new look. That may sound scary to some, but it's actually a good thing to start over with your blog and here's why.

A new start
Starting over with your blog allows you a fresh start with your blog, which definitely can lead to more motivation to keep on blogging. Starting over can also offer new ideas for your blog, and it gives you an opportunity to create new content for your niche, or even to explore a new niche. Starting over with your blog also allows you to make amends for drama (if you've been unfortunately caught up in some), and having a shiny new blog means that you can tweak it to your heart's content.

Deleting old/embarrassing posts
This is the route I chose when I started over with my blog. I deleted any old posts and even though I never made any embarrassing posts, I ended up deleting 90% of my blog posts purely because I hated the way I wrote in the past: before I started over, most of my content was purely 10 minute reviews of a product that I had gotten, and I'm trying to kick the habit of always buying makeup that I don't need because I already have enough to last me two lifetimes. I had another start over back in September because I was doing makeup of the day posts, but realized that those posts barely took any effort besides listing out the products I used, so I stopped doing those. Now I write about mostly lifestyle, things from my collection, and I've been slowly adding to my candle and homeware/blog prop collection

You can create something you'll be proud of
The primary reason why I started over with my blog was because I wanted it to be something I was proud of. Before, I wasn't even happy with where I was in blogging. I was getting 30 views a day, and I thought the only way to increase that was to make more content. While that did work, I wasn't happy with the posts I was putting out and put a stop to that in 2018. I changed my blog again in 2019, this time with a new posting schedule. Now I'm much happier and I'm so proud of where my little online space has gone.

Have you started over with your blog?

I recently got a lot of coupons in the mail for Bath & Body Works, so I decided to take a trip down there with my mom to see what new in stock they had and ended up doing a haul. Most of it is my stuff, but some of it is my mom's.

For myself, I got the Vanilla Snowflake single wick candle.

This is a mix of my mom's stuff and my stuff. We got a lot of body cream because my father struggles with dry itchy skin as a side effect of therapy for his cancer. We got Black Cherry Merlot, Winter Candy Apple, Twinkling Nights, the Peaceful Aromatherapy range, and Santa's Christmas Cookies.

We also got a Balance Aromatherapy body lotion, and be careful with this one as the bottle is actually ceramic.

The final two items are two Fine Fragrances-Into The Night and Winter Candy Apple both for me.

Have you stopped by Bath & Body Works lately?

A lot of makeup favorites I've had were sadly discontinued in the past few years, so I thought I'd take you guys down memory lane and talk about my favorite discontinued makeup favorites.

Urban Decay Naked Palette
This was the palette that launched some bloggers' careers as it was the OG palette. Sadly, it got discontinued last year, but I will always treasure this palette because it is the first high end makeup item I ever bought with my first job, and it has all neutrals, and it's quite versatile too.

Essence XXXL Lipgloss
This was one of the few drugstore lipglosses I truly liked, and I got so sad when Essence discontinued it at the end of last year/beginning of this year. This lipgloss is sparkly, but yet it comes off very subtle. I managed to stock up on three of them before the discontinuation.

Dose of Colors Baked Highlighter
The Dose of Colors Baked Highlighter is one of my favorite highlighters because of how subtle and buildable it is. I bought it on sale for $16 from the Dose of Colors website, but didn't know they were discontinuing it. However, it's still a bomb highlighter and I'll keep it for as long as I can.

Catrice Liquid Metal Cream Shadow
I picked this up two years ago and I love the formula-it's metallic in the tube, but you can build it up to be as metallic as you want it to be. I got the shade Daily Dose of Rose, which is a beautiful pale rose gold.

Kiko Cream Crush Shadow
The Kiko Cream Crush Shadows have been replaced with the Lasting Cream Shadows, but this will always be my favorite formulation because of how sheer but buildable the eyeshadows are. I still have two of them in my makeup collection and plan on keeping them around as long as possible.

Fresh Sugar Lipgloss
This is basically the lipgloss version of the Fresh Sugar Lip Balms-sheer but buildable, nourishing, and basically the best lipgloss to ever exist. I'm sad they have been discontinued but secretly hope Fresh will bring them back.

Do you have any discontinued favorites?

It's been a long six months, and I don't believe I've made a life update so here goes a long one!

Back in December of last year, I was fortunate enough to land a work study position at my school, which sadly lasted until the last week of July, as things fell through with my new boss there. Luckily, within a week (i'm still counting my lucky stars), I got a job in retail. Everyone knows that working retail isn't easy, but I'm lucky in the sense that I've worked retail before for a year and I love the people I work with. I will have been there for three months by the time this post comes out,  and it can get crazy at times but it's great since I'm still in school and can't really find time to do full time work and blog at the same time.

Speaking of school, I made the dean's list for a straight year (don't make fun of me), and it really made me happy to know that I can accomplish great grades despite failing once before. I'm hoping to graduate with top honors at my school during Winter 2020 (one more year to go!).

Content wise, I've been getting into RT accounts for my blog, which helps my views, but the bad part is not finding anything to write about, especially with work and school going on at the same time. For Instagram, I've sadly lost motivation to post there, and with the spam messages and comments from people who don't research your account (note to everyone; I will never do a giveaway as I'm not in the correct financial position to do one), I'm losing all motivation to post there. However, I've been looking for inspiration so I can post some pretty photos again.

So that's really all that's been going on with me during the past six months.

How has life been for you lately?

Income: $1279

Spending: $357
Bills: $70
Payments: $387
Other: $12

November was one of the more spendier months only because I earned about 4 20% off coupons from my work for getting people to sign up for our credit cards, and me realizing how much cute stuff was in there. Next month will be a little less spendy because I have to book an eye doctor appointment and continue to pay off debts, but it will be still be spendy because there's an upcoming discount days at work plus I have 2 more of those 20% coupons.

I recently got a lot of new in bits and pieces (by new in, I mean about a month old lol) from work thanks to an employee discount that was going on, so here are the bits I snagged...

These bits I got with a gift card I won, and I consider these part of my birthday presents to myself.

I did get a whopping five candles...

I got a Hello Kitty mug for my friend Tabi

I also got this cute little cat shaped brush holder (technically it can be used to hold hair tools and stuff like that but I use it to hold my face brushes)

I got another brush holder that was holographic pink, and I use this for tall lipglosses and my eye brushes.

Of course, me being me, I picked up one more candle.

I picked up a lot of stuff during the extra discount weekend-including two new backpacks, a storage crate, three new candles, and two new mugs. I also got several kitchen and facial towels for my mom.

I also got this cute cat backpack (although it was listed as a kids backpack...)

My favorite thing of the whole haul has to be my Dune London backpack, which is an absolute beaut.

I got about 4 20% coupons during the month and decided to use 2 of them.

I bought a new water bottle since I unfortunately lost one of mine somewhere between work and school.

I got a set of felt tip pens to use as blog props and also I want to see if bullet journaling really is for me.

I bought two holiday gnomes because they're stupidly cute.

I got my hands on a cardigan because unfortunately my favorite black one is starting to fall apart

I got a jacket for work...

I got a new Betsey Johnson nag that has two front pockets and is roomy af...

I got a Nine West satchel bag as well...

The second coupon was used for these two items.

I got a military style jacket for $20 as I was doing fitting room duties and a customer didn't want it so I grabbed it as soon as I saw it...

I also ended up grabbing a Steve Madden blush backpack.

This whole month cost me roughly $300 but I'm happy I managed to snag these items.

What new in bits have you gotten in recently?

Once again I've done a bit of shopping and ended up with some bits and bobbles I don't need...

I bought some new combat boots from work, and they are the prettiest things that I ever bought. I'm not a fan of gold hardware, but I love the little lock design on the buckle.

Also got myself some new leggings because I can't wear skinny jeans anymore (I think they damaged the nerves in my right leg).

I also got myself a mini globe to use as a blog prop, star barettes to wear and use as blog props, and Essie's Angora Cardi as well.

The following week I picked up some bits, almost exclusively from work (minus the food)

I got a little Betsey Johnson purse

I got a Burberry scarf dupe for $13

I got a new pair of winter boots because mine just completely died.

I got myself a new hoodie

I also got myself a pair of sweatpants

Finally, I got myself a new pair of pajama pants.

What did you get yourself this month?
