Five Ways I'm Living A Simpler Life

Living a simpler life can sound intimidating, but it's easy, and it doesn't require you to declutter half your life.

Stop purchasing "treats"
That "treat yo'self" mentality is great, but it's expensive because it can easily rack up hundreds of dollars when you treat yo' self whenever you feel upset. Instead of buying something when you're upset, try taking a walk, working out at home, or playing a game.

Stop shopping sales
The only sales I shop these days are the Bath & Body Works sale and the Ulta 21 Days of Beauty on occasion, depending on if they have something I want. Shopping every time there's a sale is also expensive, and there's a chance that the item you want was an impulsive want anyway.

Unfollowing and unfriending
Unfollowing and unfriending people means I'm spending less time on social media, and more time doing something productive like studying or working on projects.

Staying off social media
In addition to unfriending and unfollowing, I also am using social media less because it's so easy to get caught up in the consumerism that social media promotes.

Being more mindful
I am paying more attention to my surroundings instead of burying my head in my phone because I have to be careful of how much data I'm using (part of the problem), but also it's good to pay attention to what's going on around you.
