How To Save Money If You Love Makeup Shopping

I don't like to go makeup shopping anymore, but I know a lot of beauty bloggers who can't resist the makeup section at the drugstore. However, that can get pretty pricey, so here are some solutions to save money when makeup shopping

Sign up for rewards programs
If you shop a lot for makeup at your local drugstore or department store, it's better to sign up for their beauty enthusiast program. CVS has their Beauty Club as well as Extrabucks, Walgreens also has a Beauty Enthusiast program, and Ulta has their Ultamate Rewards program. These programs will allow you to use points on your purchase and you can knock some money off your purchase.

Wait for sales
A lot of drugstores often do sales on beauty every week, and mostly the deals are buy one, get one 50% off or buy one, get one 40% off. Occasionally you might get a BOGO deal. The deals at Ulta are usually buy 2 get 2 free or buy 2 get 1 free depending on the brand. Twice a year, Sephora and Ulta do sales. Sephora has their VIB sale which usually warrants you 10-15% off your purchase, and they have also started doing Weekly Wows, which are 50% off week-long sales on certain items. Ulta also has their 21 Days of Beauty Sale, which is twice a year and certain items are 50% off, along with their own in-house brand items. During this sale, certain items also are up to 30-40% off that aren't a Beauty Steal.

For more expensive purchases, I would recommend waiting and reading reviews. This is because it might not be as good as you think it is, despite its price tag. After two weeks or a month, if you still want it, you can go ahead and get it, and you'll find out how much less you want certain items if you have to wait for them because you will learn they are just impulses instead of actual wants.

Shop your stash
The most common form of trying to save money is shopping your stash. Shopping your stash is when you go through what products you have already, and you might be surprised at what treasures you dig back up, such as that really good concealer stashed in the back of your drawer that you put there because you have another concealer that's just as good.

Makeup shopping can be so much fun and it's even better knowing you've saved a few dollars when you realize you never wanted that cheap lipgloss because you were feeling a little impulsive.
