My Favorite Makeup Brands

Makeup is something I will always love. As with everything, I do have my favorite brands that I prefer.

Milani is one of my top drugstore brands, and I own a lot of products from them. I have a bunch of their lipsticks, including the ones from their Color Statement line and their Amore Matte Lip Creams, and I also love their Conceal & Perfect Foundation as well. The reasons why I love Milani is because they are relatively on the affordable side and they are cruelty-free.

Nyx is another brand I love. Their Epic Ink Liner is perfect for the Tattoo Liner for a brand that I'm not going to mention for their questionable beliefs, and I love their Butter Glosses for situations where a more conservative makeup look is required. Their Stay Matte But Not Flat Liquid Foundation is also the very first cruelty-free drugstore foundation I've ever bought. Nyx is also the only drugstore brand that has made brow products dark enough for my eyebrows.

Essence is a very affordable drugstore brand which isn't really well-known in the States yet, but it is very well known in Europe. I love their eyeshadows, and their lip products because they are quite decent for the price tag ($1-5).

No7 is Boots' own brand, and some people might stick their nose up at this brand because it seems to be marketed towards older women (aka women your mum's age), but their Beautifully Matte and Stay Perfect foundations are my favorites, and their Perfect Light Loose Setting Powder is my favorite drugstore loose powder.

Did you know Ulta has their own in-house brand? The brand is known not only for their makeup, but they also make a lot of other product including skincare, sun care, and bath and body stuff. I love their lip products, and they have soaps that rival that of Bath & Body Works.

Makeup Revolution
Makeup Revolution is known for their dupes of certain high-end items, but despite being dupes, the quality of MUR's products are quite decent, unlike the eBay dupes.

BareMinerals is my all time favorite high-end brand. Their mineral foundations don't clog up your pores, and they have also helped my oily skin and their lip products are gorgeous as well. Their Complexion Rescue is the only base product that I don't have to powder down because it doesn't make me shiny.

Hourglass's packaging is insanely beautiful, and I really wish I had more products from them. Their prices are average for a high-end brand, but they feel quite luxurious and feel more expensive than they actually are.

Despite the Shape Tape foundation drama, I still have a soft spot for Tarte. I own all of their Tartelette palettes, as well as several lip products, one of the Amazonian Clay Blushes, and their Amazonian Clay liquid and powder foundations.

Too Faced
I also have quite the soft spot for Too Faced as I own all of the Chocolate Palettes, the Natural Eyes palette, their Born This Way Foundation, the Melted Liquid Lipstick, and their matte liquid lipstick.

Anastasia Beverly Hills
I have quite the number of ABH products, including six Liquid Lipsticks, the Modern Renaissance palette, and the Moonchild glow kit. I also have my eye on the Dipbrow Pomade. I love ABH because I have tried their Brow Wiz before and they are the only high-end brand that has made a brow product dark enough for my brows (which are basically completely black).

  1. I also love Makeup Revolution and Essence - their makeup is so cheap yet such good quality at the same time. Revolution's eyeshadows are honestly some of the best I've tried, equating with the likes of the more expensive Morphe shadows. I have never tried anything from Milani though, but I have been wanting to give something from this brand a go for a while now. Thanks for sharing!x
