What Are My Favorite Foundations and Powders?

Two of my greatest weaknesses when it comes to makeup are foundations and loose powder. I'm always on the hunt for a mattifying foundation because my skin gets quite oily, and that's also why I prefer loose powder over pressed powder-I feel like loose powder controls my oil better. I have tried and tested many foundations over the years and here are my favorites.

Foundations:
High end:
BareMinerals Complexion Rescue (shade Natural)
I honestly wanted to try this for the longest time, but I wasn't sure about how it would actually turn out because my skin is oily. The Complexion Rescue is a tinted moisturizer hybrid-it's a gel and a CC cream all in one, and I love using this because this is the only foundation in my collection that I can wear without powder during the summer (although I still do because I am an oil slick), and it doesn't feel like it's clogging up my pores.

BareMinerals Original Mineral Foundation (shade Golden Ivory)
This is probably my most used base product. I can wear this without any foundation or concealer underneath during the summer for color correction purposes as well as oil control. Some of you might get a little wary that this is a mineral foundation, but it doesn't clog up your pores, and it feels quite nice on the skin.

BareMinerals Matte Mineral Foundation (shade Golden Ivory)
The Matte Mineral foundation is just like the Original Foundation from BareMinerals, except it is a bit more mattifying. I tend to take either this one or the Original Mineral Foundation for travel as it serves two purposes as a setting powder and foundation.

Too Faced Born This Way Foundation (shade Nude)
The Too Faced Born This Way Foundation has become one of my favorite liquid foundations. It is medium coverage, but I've found that I don't like a heavy-feeling foundation. The packaging is quite beautiful, but it is made of glass so it's not the best for traveling. It also has a pump-good news for everyone.

Drugstore:
The Body Shop Matte Clay Foundation (shade Savannah Pecan)
This is my all time favorite foundation because of three factors: It's cruelty-free, it's affordable, and it doesn't feel heavy on my skin, despite being a full coverage mattifying foundation. The packaging itself is a squeeze tube, which is quite handy and hygienic.

No7 Beautifully Matte Foundation (shade Warm Beige)
This foundation is on the slightly pricier side of drugstore foundations, but it is quite beautiful. The packaging itself is made of plastic and it makes it easier for travel purposes, and the formula of the foundation itself feels more like mousse-airy and light.

No7 Stay Perfect Foundation (shade Warm Beige)
This foundation comes in a glass bottle, so it's not the best for traveling, but the foundation itself is medium coverage and beautiful. It can feel a little heavy, but for the most part, it gives a beautiful finish.

Nyx Total Control Drop Foundation (shade Natural)
This drop foundation is my favorite, although unfortunately, it comes with a glass bottle, so it's not exactly travel-safe unless you're very careful. I love the formula of this foundation as well because of how lightweight it feels, and it's also buildable depending on how many drops you want.

Powders:
No7 Perfect Light Loose Setting Powder
This is my favorite drugstore powder. It doesn't leave a layer of white on my face, and it mattifies my skin pretty well. This is said to be a dupe for the Laura Mercier Powder but I have yet to try the LM Powder myself.

BareMinerals Mineral Veil
This is one of my two high-end favorite powders. The Mineral Veil feels a lot heavier than the Perfect Light powder, but it locks in my oil and sets down my face well.

CoverFX Perfect Setting Powder
The CoverFX Perfect Setting Powder is another high-end favorite. What I love about this one is the packaging-it comes with a plastic lid you lift off before you use the product as well as the actual silver lid to prevent spillage. The powder itself feels quite nice and silky and sets my face pretty well without breaking me out.
