The Little Steps I'm Taking To Live A More Sustainable Life

I have been looking into living a more sustainable life, and there are several ways that people can do that. However, some methods of living more sustainably are costly, which most people cannot afford, so here are some everyday ways that people can live more sustainably without breaking the bank.

Thrift or buy secondhand
Thrifting is a good way to live more sustainably. This is because you are buying secondhand, instead of buying from a fast fashion shop, and thrifting is more affordable as well. You can also buy clothes secondhand from sites like eBay, Poshmark, and Depop, which comes in handy because a lot of YouTubers are constantly putting stuff on Depop. I will still always buy things from fast fashion stores purely for the affordability, but I am trying to do it less.

Reusable water bottles
Reusable water bottles are another great way to live more sustainably, as you are reducing your plastic usage. Most reusable water bottles are quite affordable, with the lowest price being $5 at a discount store near me. A reusable water bottle doesn't need to be fancy with a compact ice cube maker, it just has to hold your water and not leak.

Glass containers
Glass containers exist, which I didn't know until last year. They are much more sustainable than Tupperware because glass containers never get stained and are easier to wash than Tupperware.

This is the easiest and most simple step to becoming more sustainable. You can recycle your old cereal box, water bottles, those ratty magazines you never read anymore, etc etc. Sometimes it can be difficult to pinpoint what can be recycled, and a general rule of thumb I follow is that if it has a recycle symbol somewhere on the packaging, it's safe to be recycled.
