The Pros and Cons of My State

There are several pros and cons of living in the tiny state of Delaware. Fun fact: I've been living in DE for 12 years, twice the length of the time I lived in Texas.

No sales tax-You pay everything as it is. No additional $1.06 or $.95 on anything. This can also be a bit of a con because everyone and their mother from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Maryland come during Black Friday and the holiday shopping season leading up to Christmas.

You can travel to bigger cities in a few hours-NYC is roughly 2.5 hours by car and Philadelphia is roughly 1 hour by car.

This song-Sums it up pretty well.

Construction-this causes HUGE problems in the morning, when everyone is trying to get to work, and in the evening when everyone is trying to get home. Luckily, most construction takes place between the hours of 7 pm and 6 am, way before morning rush hour and evening rush hour, but sometimes, daytime construction can't be avoided.

Traffic-There's an accident every single day and it has made me want to stop driving because some people on the road just scare me. Of course, some of those accidents are unfortunately deadly, but most of them are minor, with the car being damaged or some truck losing part of its load.

Nothing to do-Unfortunately, Delaware isn't really known for being full of fun places to go, aside from a handful of museums and the mall. However, there's a pro in that as there are a lot of fun things to do out of state, and you could practically travel to PA in 30 minutes and MD in about an hour. NJ is also about an hour away.

What are some pros and cons of your state?
