When You Don't Feel Good Enough for the Internet...

by - Thursday, November 08, 2018

Have you ever tried something online, such as a blog, streaming a game, or opening up an online shop but only to find out that you have little to no views and it seems like nobody is interested? This has happened to me a lot, and it's really discouraging. I haven't got any sales on my Etsy photography shop, barely any views on my blog unless I post twice a day, but it's okay to feel like you're not good at anything. It happens to the best of us, and there are some ways to tackle it and to not quit the thing that you're so passionate about.

Find something you really like
Whether it's reading, writing, typing, or photography, there is bound to be something you're good at or that you enjoy that can be marketable. Even if it's gaming, you could stream it live on Twitch or Mixer.

People have different tastes
If you have no views, it doesn't mean that you've failed. Some people have different tastes, so if you like puzzle games, your stream might not be interesting to someone who likes battle royale games. If you blog about beauty, it might not be interesting to someone who likes to travel.

Keep trying
The most important thing in all of this is that you don't give up your passion because it seems and feels like nobody is reading/watching your projects. Giving up means that you have given up on your passion completely, and I have given up countless times, but just because something of mine isn't generating the views I want doesn't mean it's over. In a few weeks, months, or years you could be racking up thousands of views instead of 20 views per day.

Success isn't defined by numbers
Everyone thinks that success means having a few hundred thousand followers or making a certain amount per month, but if that's what defines success, I'm sure 95% of us would be deemed unsuccessful. Success to me is being happy with what I put out despite the view number or dismal traffic I seem to be getting.

What do you do when you don't feel good enough for the Internet?
