The Festive One-Wash Wonders

by - Wednesday, December 19, 2018

The holidays have officially come upon us, and with that, everyone's makeup changes to glitter, glitz, and red lips. I have several one-wash wonders that are perfect for the holiday season, and I find that nobody really does one-wash wonders for the holidays and it's all about the palettes, but I just thought I'd give it a try if you're not one to faff around with palettes.

Catrice Liquid Metal Cream Eyeshadow in Daily Dose of Rose (discontinued)
Catrice is the sister brand to Essence, a well-known brand that is very affordable. The Liquid Metal Cream Eyeshadows are essentially liquid eyeshadows, but with a creamier formula, and they are metallic, but can be sheered out. Unfortunately, like most things I like, it has been discontinued. I have one holiday-appropriate shade, which is Daily Dose of Rose. Daily Dose of Rose is a pale pink, which can almost pass for rose hold.

Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadows in Smoldering Satin, Kitten Karma
If you can't wear glitter during the holidays, then when can you? The Stila Glitter & Glow Liquid Shadows are a glitterbomb-100% glitter without the fallout. I have two of the Stila Magnificent Metals-Smoldering Satin, which is a deep brown with silver glitter, and Kitten Karma, a copper with gold glitter.

Butter London Glazen Eye Gloss in Icing, Frosting
Butter London's Glazen Eye Glosses are intriguing. They are jelly eyeshadows, which means that they do jiggle when you shake them, but they have intense pigmentation and don't fade, even on oily eyelids like mine. I have two holiday-appropriate ones-Icing, which is a metallic mauve, and Frosting, which is a beautiful rose gold.

Essence Metal Glam Eyeshadow in Frosted Apple, Hello Goldie (discontinued)
Essence is one of my favorite drugstore brands because of how affordable everything is, and like Catrice, they're always releasing new products, which causes old products to become discontinued. The holiday favorites from Essence are unfortunate examples of this. The Metal Glam eyeshadows are very shimmery eyeshadows that can be sheered out, and I have two of them for the holidays: Frosted Apple, which is a reddish copper, and Hello Goldie, a pale gold.
