Trying out Joah Beauty Products!

I've been looking into Korean beauty, especially makeup, for a while, and Joah Cosmetics was one of the perfect entryways into that foray-cheap, affordable, and available in a drugstore (CVS), but because my CVS didn't have any of their products, I had to make a huge order online.

I bought a total of 8 items-7 lip products and a foundation, and got a free face mask.

The lip products I bought are as follows:

  • Infinite Kiss Satin Matte Lipstick (shade Bisou)-a slightly peachy neutral mauve. The formula feels quite comfortable, and it's one of those liquid lipstick formulas that never completely dries down, so beware of leaving stains on everything you eat/drink/kiss!
  • Mirror Mirror Lip Gloss (shade Magic Potion)-This lipgloss was personally a bit of a meh for me because it's one of those gimmicky duochrome deals that never truly shows up duochrome on your lips anyway, but I'll keep it because it's fun to have. Magic Potion is a silver that has red duochromatic glitter.
  • Tintation Lip Stain (shade Eye Candy)-This lip stain is slightly watery like all stains, but it does have a nice color which fades nicely over time. I got the shade Eye Candy, which is basically your typical nude pink with equal parts pink and brown and looks the slighest bit too light for your skin.
  • Wat-A-Matte Liquid Lipstick (shade Pink Smoothie)-These liquid lipsticks are more drying than the Satin Matte lipsticks, but still quite comfortable to wear. They almost feel like the Milani Amore Mattes in a way, and I picked up the color Pink Smoothie, which is a deep dusky pink.
  • I'm Your Jelly Bae Matte Gel Lipstick (shade Hubby)-out of all the lip products I got from Joah, this one has to be my favorite, as it feels quite strange-it's a little bit difficult to apply from the bullet but it also has amazing color and staying powder. I picked the color Hubby, which is a slightly pale mauve shade.
  • La Bam Balm Tinted Lip Balm (shade Pinata)-Despite looking scarily pigmented in the tube, these lip balms are actually not very tinted at all and leave a ligt wash of color. They also feel slightly oily, but it's fine for a tinted lip balm to feel a bit greasy due to its purpose-to protect and nourish your lips. I got the shade Pinata, which is a beautiful light rose red.
  • Smack-A Ron Matte Velvet Lipstick (shade Raspberry Mousse)-This lipstick feels matte, as per the name, but it doesn't pull like the Jelly Bae lipstick, and feels more like the MAC Matte lipsticks. I got the shade Raspberry Mousse, which is a deep neutral pink that reminds me of the Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Berry Smoothie before they discontinued it.
Swatches-Bisou, Eye Candy, Pink Smoothie, Hubby, Pinata, Raspberry Mousse, Magic Potion

The last thing I bought was the Truly Yours Foundation in the shade Warm Nude, which isn't sold at CVS sadly but is still on the Joah Beauty website. The foundation is a drop foundation, so it's best used with a brush as a sponge will just absorb most of it, and it's now part of my drop foundation collection. It gives a beautiful finish, even with my oily skin, and stays on pretty much all day. You could mix this in with your facial moisturizer to give it a sheerer finish, but I prefer my foundations more full coverage.

The freebie I got was the Skin Polish Wash-Off Mask, which is similar to my Origins Charcoal Mask, except cheaper. It's one of those mask deals that you apply, leave on for 10-15 minutes, and wash off. Nothing too special.

All in all, I'm actually quite pleased with everything I got, especially with the Jelly Bae lipstick and Tinted Lip Balm while everything else was decent. The meh product was the lipgloss, only because I find it too gimmicky that it's duochrome.
