My Favorite Zombie Games I've Played So Far

Some of my favorite games involve zombies/infected-I don't know why I just love myself a good zombie shooter/survival horror, and here are some of my favorites!

Days Gone (Platforn: PS4)
I have streamed this game a few times but I absolutely bloody love it as it's beautiful and has an awesome soundtrack. The game takes place two years after an outbreak of a virus called the Freaker Virus, which turns both humans and animals into mindless cannibalistic beings called Freakers, with a lot of variants for both the human infected and animal infected. You play a former soldier/former outlaw-turned bounty hunter (Drifters in the game) named Deacon St. John, who is looking for his wife after learning she still might be alive after believing her for dead. You not only have to fight the Freakers in this game, you also have to fight people who have set up ambush camps. The one dangerous thing is that the Freakers are easy to take on when they're by themselves, but they are deadly when you have a whole horde because of how quickly they move.

The Last of Us (Platform: Playstation)
This game is also really good considering I chugged out a four hour stream on this the other day. This game takes place roughly 20 years after a Cordyceps-type virus turns everyone it infects into what I like to call "mushroom zombies" (infected with shroom growths). You play as Joel, a human smuggler who has to get Ellie, an immune 14 year old girl, to the Fireflies, but you not only have to fight the mushroom infected, you also have to fight the military, several groups who have control over some towns and call any trespassers "tourists", and eventually you have to fight the Fireflies themselves, the group that wants to "save" Ellie. The unfortunate thing in this game is that melee weapons break after a certain amount of hits, but you can always fight Runners and other humans with your bare hands, but don't try to pick a fight with a Clicker with your bare hands or you'll die.

Dying Light (Platform: Xbox)
This literally is like Assassin's Creed if it was a zombie game because it definitely has those parkour elements. In this game you play Kyle Crane, who is investigating a virus in a town called Harran. Like all other zombie games, melee weapons break after some times, but that's when you throw hands.

Left 4 Dead 2 (Platform: Xbox &PC)
This is such a classic but its also quite fun with friends since the game focuses entirely on teamwork and trying to strategize, especially in Versus mode, and on PC, you can customize it with mods, whether it's cosmetic mods or custom campaigns.

Resident Evil 2
This game undoubtedly scared the living daylights out of me at first, but I love it now! It's mostly puzzle based (never thought I'd be the kind of person to love puzzle games but here we are), and you can either play as Leon Kennedy, a rookie officer who has to find his way out of the Raccoon City Police Station, or Claire Redfield, the sister of an officer who's trying to find her brother. You have to find your way out of the city while trying to fight infected and avoid a hulking Tyrant (aka Mr X)

  1. Great list, I have played all accept for Days Gone, I shall have to give it a go, especially if it has a good sound track! I love zombie games, it can be hard to find a good one that isn't resident evil. I'm looking forward to playing the remastered version of 2 though :)
