My Favorite Gold Products

One of my favorite packaging colors is gold-which is surprising because I used to hate gold-I thought it was just a way to make drugstore products look way more expensive than they actually are, but I quickly learned that with the right products, gold packaging can look beautiful.

Stila Matte n' Metal Palette
This small palette is a goldmine-pun not intended. The packaging is comprised of a checkerboard pattern of dull and bright gold, and the palette itself is quite beautiful-a mix of equal parts matte and shimmery/metallic.

Sleek Makeup Solstice Palette
The Solstice Palette became the talk of the town a few years ago because it looks totally luxe despite being a drugstore product. It contains four highlighters-two baked, a cream, and a powder, wth the two baked highlighters being a beautiful pale lavender, a pale gold, the powder highlight being a pale peach, and the cream highlighter being a pale champagne.

YSL Rouge Volpute Lip in Oils 
The YSL Rouge Voluptes are a recent addition to my lipstick collection and sit somewhere between a lip balm and an actual lipstick, but nevertheless they are beautiful. They look totally luxe (given their hefty $38 price tag), and I love wearing them as they have a sweet, kind of fruity smell and you don't need a lip balm below them to wear them.

By Terry Ombre Blackstar Eyeshadow Sticks
The By Terry Ombre Blackstar Shadow Sticks were also the talk of the town a few years ago on Youtube especially, and with their pale gold packaging, they look more expensive than they actually are. The formula of these babies are beautiful-creamy when initially applied, but when you're done blending, they stay on all day.
